Dexter: Resurrection
Okay, I finally got to watch this and It's... good? I saw the hype when it came out so my expectations were really high. It was great overall, but honestly, not as good as people made it out to be.
The cinematography? Absolutely perfect. 10/10, no comments. But I still can’t get over the fact that they brought Dexter back from the dead, it just felt unnecessary and a way to get more money from the show.I know a lot of people hated the ending of New Blood, but I actually liked it. It made so much sense in my head: Dexter being killed by his own son after showing him his dark side, Harrison not following in his footsteps. LIKE, that makes a lot of sense idk. Anyway, both this and new blood are nothing compared to OG Dexter.
As for the villains this season, they were… okay? Different from what we’re used to, but I liked the vibe overall.
Now, the ending.. I don't know how I feel about it. I loved the build up and the tension the whole episode. Him saving Batista. Batista dying (I CRIED). His brother showing up while stuck in that vault, that was such a pleasant surprise. Then he escapes, Prater takes Harrison hostage. Harry saying "Go get that fucker", best line in the whole show by the way. Prater almost killing Harrison. The excitement, this all was PERFECT. I loved it all up until when Harrison put that needle in Prater's thigh (was it the thigh or in his abdomen? I don't remember, but you get the point). Everything started falling into place too perfectly. He got away too easily, I wanted something to go wrong, ANYTHING. I wished for a plot twist but we didn't have any.
Also what's up with him stealing Prater's yacht at the end and using it to dispose the body?? This is what I am saying, it is too perfect.
